Heading North

We headed up north for a quick visit.  We spent the night at Val and Vince's.  I got a few pictures of Sammy, Eric and Garrett playing outside.  Sammy took to the swords with frightening relish...

From there we headed over to see Grandma Higgins.  

The kids were amusing about the Grandma kisses....

From there we went to see Nanny and Grampy.  It's a little bittersweet putting these pictures up a year later. These turned out to be the last pictures that I have of my grandfather.  He passed away just a few weeks ago.  

Owen slept through a lot of the visit.

Back To Blogging

I am actually writing this entry on May 13, 2013.  I took a long hiatus from blogging as I went back to work.  It is time to catch this thing up.  I have created a new blog because in the past I have written my own blogging software.  While this was kinda cool, it also was a lot of upkeep.  Blogger happily lets you do all of this for free, and they now have enough features to make it actually better than what I was using before.  Therefore, welcome to the new blog.  The picture at the top was taken at Myrtle Beach last year.

I am going to date the posts on the dates that things actually happened.  On my last blog I would date things based on when I created the post.  I found that this made it very hard to go back and find things because it might be dated months after the actual event.  So this time around I will date things based on when they happened, and we'll see how that works. 

So, going back to April 8, 2012 - Easter day.  We had the usual Easter egg hunt.

Owen checked out the book that the Easter bunny put in his basket.

And showed his new puppy some love.
